As part of its ongoing efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and capacity building in public procurement, the Delta State Public Procurement Commission (DSPPC) organized a sensitization workshop for state contractors, consultants, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The event, held on 25th June, 2025, at the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat, Conference Hall, Cluster D, Ground Floor, Asaba, was themed:
“Partnering with Contractors, Consultants & SMEs to Actualize the M.O.R.E Agenda.”
The workshop focused on deepening understanding of the Delta State Public Procurement Law and Guidelines, and equipping stakeholders with the knowledge needed to effectively participate in the state’s procurement processes. It brought together key stakeholders in the procurement ecosystem, including registered contractors, engineering and consulting firms, SME operators, and government procurement officers.
In his welcome remarks, a representative of the Commission emphasized the state’s commitment to fair, competitive, and transparent procurement practices that support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda—Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Real reforms, and Enhanced peace and security.
Participants received practical guidance on bidding procedures, documentation requirements, compliance expectations, and how to avoid common pitfalls during procurement processes. The interactive session also allowed participants to ask questions, raise concerns, and receive clarification directly from Commission officials.
The sensitization workshop was well-received, with participants commending the Commission for its proactive engagement and calling for more regular capacity-building events to strengthen the procurement process across the state.
